High School Artwork
This is a selection of my artwork from senior year of high school. My AP Studio concentration consisted of pieces in which I completed a textured background before painting a realistic portrait on the surface I developed. I did this because I wanted to rethink my process of painting and work with texture and my imagination and emotions. The painting is done in acrylic, and the backgrounds contain found fabric, string, yarn, paint samples, and much more.
"Soap", the second painting in this gallery, is currently on display in Washington, D.C. as a district winner of the Congressional Art Competition. All of these pieces have also received other awards including gold and silver keys at the regional level from the 2014 Scholastic Art Competition.
